International Organization for Migration - evaluation of Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme for Irregular Migrants
Barncat undertook an evaluation for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Dublin office of the Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme for Irregular Migrants (IVARRP), assists irregular migrants who wish to return home, but do not have the means to do so. The programme also gives them assistance to reintegrate in their country of origin. This project is funded under the European Return Fund. For this evaluation, Barncat met with beneficiaries in the process of returning, and interviewed other stakeholders including government officials and NGOs. Barncat director Hannah Grene also undertook two monitoring trips to Moldova and Mauritius, two of the main countries of return under the project. The evaluation was completed in February 2011.
