Barncat assisted Volunteer Centres Ireland (VCI) in drawing up an application for funding in response to a call for flagship project proposals by the European Commission, in the context of the European Year of Volunteering, which takes place in 2011. Barncat are delighted that VCI, together with their project partners Business in the Community, Focus Ireland and the National Standards Authority, have been successful in their bid for funding. The project will research, design, pilot and implement a quality standard framework for volunteer-involving organisations in Ireland.
