Barncat was commissioned to undertake a study of the current labour market in Ireland and its implications for VSO Ireland, which sends skilled professionals on two year assignments to the developing world. This study explored motivation and incentive to volunteer, as well as perceived barriers to volunteering, and fed directly into VSO Ireland's marketing and recruitment strategy. This project was undertaken by Hannah Grene, Barncat Director in conjunction with Eva Early. Eva is also Information and Communications Officer with Volunteer Centres Ireland, and her expertise was invaluable in completing this report.
