Barncat Consulting does not undertake large scale evaluations. However, Hannah has experience in working on large scale evaluations as part of a wider team and occasionally takes on smaller qualitative evaluations or ongoing reviews of policy or programmes.
Project Example
Christian Aid ‘From Violence to Peace’ Investment Fund
In 2015, Christian Aid established an internal investment fund to encourage a more specific focus on tackling violence and building peace, in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives. €400-500,000 was allocated to the fund each year for four years, supporting projects in 16 countries.
At the end of each funding round, Christian Aid commissioned Barncat Consulting to undertake a brief review of the current projects. This involved reviewing the project applications and reports, interviews with country staff and partners, and facilitating a workshop with programme staff to discuss the results and to plan future rounds. In 2019, the results of the internal investment fund review fed into an Impact Study of Christian Aid’s wider work on From Violence to Peace. A brief summary of the result of the review can also be found here.
